I teach programming, robotics, biomedical engineering and engineering design. Most of my classes are actually with small groups in laboratories where the students are building or programming real systems. I do some regular lecturing in a lecture theatre, but only a couple of hours a week. I don’t mind doing that, but I think practical work in the lab is a more important part of the learning experience for engineering students because it develops deeper understanding and it’s easier to remember what you’ve learned.
