      There were over 14000 earthquakes last year! But most of those were only on the Richter scale between 4 and 5, which aren’t particularly dangerous. You can find a list of them here:

      Indonesia had 17 major earthquakes last year, and over 2000 people died in them.

      Ellen is definitely the expert in that area. I would have guessed that it was much lower than that.
      I guess we only hear about the large earthquakes that cause a lot of damage.
