Ellen Simmons answered on 6 Mar 2019:
I get to travel to different cities for careers fairs, conferences and outreach events, but haven’t yet gotten to travel very far. I hope to visit the USA soon, because I have a client who is based there. Lots of my colleagues travel, depending on where their clients are based.

Andrea Pacheco answered on 7 Mar 2019:
Yes, my career brought me all the way from Colombia to Ireland, and because of my current job I have been to more than 5 different countries in the last two years.

Laura Farina answered on 7 Mar 2019:
I actually travel a lot for my job to partecipate to conferences, courses, meeting, to collaborate with other engineers… sometimes it feels too much but it is a great opportunity!
For example in the next days, from March 20th to April 10th, I will travel to Sicily, Poland, and Netherlands!! It can be tiring but I love it! -
Ted Burke answered on 7 Mar 2019:
I don’t travel with work very much, but I have opportunities to travel if I want. There are lots of research conferences around the world where I could go to present my work. I travel around Ireland a bit running robotics workshops, but I’ve never done one overseas.

Kevin OBrien answered on 11 Mar 2019:
I have had loads of opportunities to travel, but have not done very much.
The majority of my trips were within Europe.

Does the company you work for pay for you to travel?
Kevin commented on :
Absolutely, they pay for all of the travel, car hire, accommodation, and food while you’re away.
